Why is Branding Important?

1. It is the visual identity for your company or person. This is how your audience perceive who you are. Your brand identity should readily tell your customers the problem you are solving or “pain point”. It easily makes your company or person recognizable.

2. It helps you gain competitive advantage. This for instance is what makes you differentiate whether you want to buy Popeye’s chicken or KFC chicken.

3. Your brand identity should have its emotional side that connects with people. Branding helps you to connect with your audience easily by identifying with their pain points.

4. Branding helps you to find new clients and sustain existing ones.

One of the key factors to a very successful branding is consistency.

  • Be consistent with your message and typography.

  • Be consistent with your kind of images, videos and content.

1. Color Palette

Colors convey emotions and should not be underestimated.

Choose 1 or 2 primary colors and a few secondary ones to complete your palette.

It is important that your logo appearance is consistent. Remember, this is the face of your brand identity. Statistics show that 75% of customers recognize a brand by its logo.

From your logo design to logo colors or fonts, it should compliment your brand. Consider where your logo will appear and when you use a graphic designer to create your logo, clearly convey what kind of logo you want.

4. Website Design

Your website should reflect who you are and what your brand is all about.

Use powerful words, catchy images and of course your represented colors. If you need help choosing words for your brand, here is a list of power words that you can use.

Use colors that match (this is where your color palette comes in). Just because blue is your favorite color, does not mean the whole website should be doused in blue. Mix and match with soft tones of other colors that work with your main colors.

An effective business card should have what you do briefly on it, your logo, name, professional email address and website. Easy.
