User Circle

February 8, 2023

You have set the goals this year – financial been at the top of the list. You have also laid out strategies on how you are going to make more money and save more money.

Honestly, do you need a side hustle or main hustle? The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES!!!!

Personally, I have been in this tight spot of barely living off my 9-5 salary job and I knew there had to be a better way. The other problem was which side-hustle is actually worth doing? A side hustle that will not take too much of my time away from my full-time job, will enable me to have work-life balance with my family and actually have time to other things I love.

The idea is basically a side gig/ hustle that you will enjoy doing and you can still make something extra from for the month. There are a whole lot of hustles out there and that are not very defined BUT I have taken the time to streamline the best 10 with details below.

Please take note that these side hustles are not get rich quick schemes rather they require a whole lot of dedication for you to see magnificent results.

Best Side Hustles

1. Digital Products Seller

Selling digital products is fast becoming a thing to look out for right now. According to a new research report by Global Markets Insights Inc., the e-learning industry market size is set to exceed $375 billion by year 2026.

You might wonder that what kinds of digital products are there. We have a handful listed below:

  • Creating & selling an online course

You can become an expert by putting out a course for people to buy because you are solving a problem. A quick question guide is highlighted below:

Do you know how to repair credit?

Do you know how to cook?

Do you know how to do some kind of handcraft?

Do you know how to teach someone how to use Microsoft Office products?

Do you know how to coach?

Do you know how to teach Dating in a better way?

Do you know how to organize events?

Do you know how to make body butters, soaps or lip balms?

Do you know how to overcome poverty or alcoholism?

There are so many course creator platforms, I do use Vonza to create my courses which I also recommend.

  • Templates/ eBooks/ Guides/ Worksheets

Create great templates or guides that will make people’s lives simpler.

There are several tools that you can use to achieve this such as Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint, Snappa or Google Docs.

You can offer various eBooks but remember to search for what people are looking for using keywords and Google Trends.

Remember to make your titles catchy and very specific.

For instance. you might want to go with “A complete guide to creating Facebook Ads for Coaches” rather than “A guide to creating Ads”.

  • Membership Sites

This is another area that is fast growing in today’s world. This is another source of recurring income.

You can offer membership services from beauty & skincare services, food recipes, shopping, fitness, logos and fonts library, stock photos library etc.

People will be ready to pay you monthly to get newer features or benefits as they move along with you.

2. Proofreading

This is a very flexible side-hustle. A proofreader polishes written content for content writers, books, bloggers and more.

You can put up your services on sites like Fiverr and Upwork.

You can learn how to start proofreading in Caitlin’s free Proofread Anywhere Workshop.

3. Virtual Assistant (VA)

You can become a virtual assistant in almost any niche you desire. You can have experience in admin or not and you can end up carrying out a whole lot of virtual assistant tasks. Some of the tasks are listed below:

  • Pinterest Virtual Assistant – create pins, schedule pins, keyword researches.
  • Graphic Designer – Create eBooks, worksheets, guides, flyers, Instagram/ Facebook images, Banners with Canva.
  • Blog writing services
  • Social Media Accounts Manager
  • Excel Sheet Projects
  • Ghost Writing
  • Making Scheduling Appointments
  • Writing Email Newsletters or Email Sequences
  • Writing Resumes or Proposals

4. Blogging

Blogging has a high earning potential. You can control when you choose to write and post and you can make a great income if you are very dedicated to writing.

Not just writing anything but topics people are generally searching for. You can blog about anything such as how to be the best mom, breastfeeding, fashion, fitness, technology, electronic devices, interior décor just to mention a few.

If you are interested in starting a blog, a WordPress blog hosted through Bluehost or SiteGround are great for beginners.

Major ways you can earn money from blogging are through affiliate marketing, sponsored ads, digital products, services and advertising.

My favorite monetization strategy is through digital product sales and ads.

5. Selling Items on Etsy/eBay/Shopify

Start by identifying the niche you want to branch into.

Most sellers do not have to deal with the packaging and shipments no more – this is due to DROPSHIPPING.

The best Dropshipping niches for 2023 are

  • Sports
  • Outdoors
  • Beauty
  • Jewelry
  • Kitchen/ Cooking Equipment
  • Pets
  • Kids/ Baby Items
  • Technology
  • Lighting Fixtures

There are so many tools to find winning products such as ecomhunt.com or dropshiprabbit.com.

You need to find a quality dropshipping supplier using tools such as Oberlo or Udroppy.

Then you can run your own ecommerce store on platforms such as Shopify which is one of the biggest in the ecommerce industry.

6. Film/Video Editing

This is another skill that can be carried out at your own time and pace.

There are so many learning resources on Udemy on how to edit and the best editing software to use to achieve a top-notch result.

A freelance video editor can earn anywhere from $200 – $300 for a 60-seconds video edit!

For a 2D or 3D animated 60-seconds video edit with voiceover, scriptwriting, background music can range from $750 – $1,000.

7. Running Ads for Small Businesses

You can run Facebook, YouTube or Pinterest ads for small businesses. This will help to increase traffic to their sites and make them visible. You have to know how to create effective ads. You can make anywhere from $1,000 – $1,500 monthly per client.

8. Coaching

This is one of the fastest growing niches. There are various niches of coaching from Life to Business to Spiritual coaching. You need to get certified before you can start coaching others.

You can offer your coaching services on your blogs or website or social media platforms.

9. Web Designer/ Web Developer

A web designer typically makes anything between $1,500 and $2,000 in building a maximum of a 5-page website. Some other designers charge as high as $7,500!

You can hone your skills in web designing if you naturally have an eye for designs, colors and building new projects from scratch.

A web developer is one who specializes in the development of World Wide Web applications knowing how to code using html, java scripts, styled css sheets and more.

Just for practice, learning and for fun you can try this coding website called FreeCodeCamp. I really love this site because each coding exercise is just like playing a game till you get to the next level BUT you are actually learning and its FREE!

You can start learning from this free website and then upgrade later on to higher or more advanced courses.

As we all know, web developers earn a whole lot more.

10. Bookkeeping

A bookkeeper records daily financial transactions for a business or a person while accountants interpret the transactions.

You can start with very little experience in bookkeeping and then grow in it. Freelance bookkeepers can earn between $60 -$100/hour.

To start and grow in your bookkeeping side hustle, read more from this article on Becoming a Bookkeeper from Home.
